The Life of a Basket

Baskets for Peace
What more hopeful a gift than this cheerful set of miniature Prosperity Baskets – created by Rwandan widows as a gesture of goodwill and prosperity. Each little sisal basket in a colorful palette of reds, blues, yellows, and green stripes is created by the weavers of Kinigi Ladies Association who create baskets both as a way to earn a livelihood and as a way to heal from the wounds of a tragic past.

Follow every step of the process?from gathering the raw materials to the placing the final stitch?as Master Weaver Grace Mujawamariya creates a beautiful Harvest Bowl."
